Boing Boing has an, um, interesting post and picture of hot dogs with spaghetti coming out of them. The way it’s presumably done is by inserting hard, uncooked spaghetti into a soft hot dog. Here’s a pic of what it looks like:

Even funnier than that is this comment from a Boing Boing reader:

Roommate suggested spiral pasta (if you could make the bore hole not make the hotdog structurally unstable)…

I work at my day job with many engineers and have heard of many materials be referred to as “structurally unstable,” but this is the first time I’ve EVER heard of hot dogs be referred to that way.

The April 2009 column is now online, woohoo! Aunt Flabby filled in, so to speak, for The Humorless Twit this month. Here’s an excerpt:

This month, I want to share with you my family’s most coveted recipes from the Great Depression. The reason for that, besides the fact that they are utterly scrumptious, is that we are going through some hard times now and we all need to save some money. But we still have to eat. Well, I don’t know about you but I know that I still have to eat. I ALWAYS have to eat! In fact, let me stop now to have my mid-morning snack.
